Wilderness Safaris is first and foremost a conservation organization. Secondly they are a responsible ecotourism operator and they firmly believe that this is the most effective and practical way to ensure the viability and sustainability of African conservation in the modern era.

Wilderness Safaris is our partner behind Pafuri Walking Trails and Pafuri Camp – located in the most northern part of Kruger National Park - and Rocktail Beach Camp on the eastern coast of South Africa.

“Our journeys change people’s lives” is their motto. We couldn't agree more.

Meet Walter Jubber

Head Guide at Pafuri Camp

Walter was born and raised in the eastern suburbs of Johannesburg.
From an early age he had a huge interest in wildlife and at the age of 20 obtained a diploma in Nature Guiding and Management. This eventually led him to Namibia where he for a period worked in the Ehi-Rovipuka, a nature conservancy, adding valuable experience in camp management and trails guiding and tracking. He has been involved in elephant contraception/vasectomy programs headed by David Powerie, and also assisted with elephant monitoring in the Welgevonden Game Reserve.

Some years ago Walter joined Wilderness Safaris and began working at Pafuri Camp. He was appointed senior trails guide and is now the head guide. He is also an avid wildlife photographer for Wilderness Safaris.

To date he had obtained his FGASA (Field Guide Association of South Africa) Level 3 Trails Guide qualification and have done several general interest courses in connection with wildlife and the environment. He also assists in wildlife data capturing projects and monitoring projects of various species.

Walter is highly capable, knowledgeable and excellent company.
