Permit us to introduce you to three of Southern Africa’s best private guides. With many years of experience and highly qualified to safeguard your safari.

Marius Swart, Steve Rosskelly and Sean Pattrick.

We offer, accompanied by one of these three experts, the ultimate and most unique of safaris, that of the the privately guided safari experience.

Their diverse knowledge with regard to the Eco-Tourism industry has grown since 1992 and has helped them develop a holistic approach to interpreting the signs in nature. They are steadfast in their professional principles, sensitive conduct and ethical convictions.

The pillars of their philosophy are Respect, an attitude not only applied to every living creature and abiotic component of the environment, but to their guests and colleagues alike. Patience, and not interfering or influencing, but allowing the natural flow of events and processes to unfold thereby witnessing authentic displays of nature’s spectacles instead of contrived theatrical renditions thereof. Adaptability – by adapting to circumstances, impromptu alterations to planned activities afford them the opportunity to enhance any experience. Why stick to a human schedule when nature has one of her own…

They are deeply committed to, where possible, choosing destinations that actively promote and act in an environmentally responsible manner. Many of their preferred destinations are in pristine and untouched wilderness which calls for a “tread-lightly” philosophy…something they hold very close to heart.

MEET MARIUS, STEVE AND SEAN BELOW...

Meet Marius Swart

Clearly Africa

Since 1992 Marius has been passionately sharing the splendours of nature with clients from all over the world.

With a penchant for walking safaris he has developed a sense of awareness and pace, which provides for an experience of being observes rather that participants in Natures flow of events. Marius thrives in discovering new wild-places and piecing together the components which drives their cycle. He prefers small groups of guests and quiet concessions which has led him to some spectacular and unknown regions where interpretation occur as impromptu and un-orchestrated as the events and behaviour displayed by the wildlife observed.

Marius enjoys photography, adventure motorcycling and flying. His hobbies when he isn’t “working”…

In his own words:

“Please join me for a journey of discovery, not only of natures treasure chest, but that of yourself.”

Meet Steve Roskelly

Clearly Africa

From an early age Steve has been preoccupied with wildlife & nature and his working life has been immersed in the field of nature reserves, wild animals and wide-open spaces. Living, and having travelled extensively in Southern Africa, he realised that nature was where his heart and passion lay.

Guiding experience from open vehicles, on foot and in aircraft, from lowveld savannas to sand forest and coastline are among Steve’s repertoire of working activities. Leaving the bush for a period to obtain a University degree in Botany & Zoology, he returned and did extensive excursions and wanderings throughout the Drakensberg Mountains, the interior of Zimbabwe, as well as the Kalahari and thus reinforced the broken link between man and nature.

Steve is pursuing privately guided specialist safaris for a discerning clientele and training to be a micro-light aviation pilot. His other many interests besides nature and other earth-sciences include 4x4 overland explorative travels, photography, riding his BMW R80G/S motorcycle and “Africana” literature.

In his own words:

“If one listens, nature will speak of wonders and awaken the strongest of human emotions”

He has travelled extensively throughout the world, which includes studies in the UK along with travels in his homeland South Africa and other southern African countries including Namibia, Botswana, Swaziland, Lesotho, Mozambique, Kenya and Zimbabwe.
