A variety of exciting species to hunt - in a very different culture

The area: Arbe Gugu (mountains), Danakil Desert, Jibat Mountains

Species: Mountain nyala, giant forest hog, Menelik bushbuck, less kudu, gerenuk, Sommering gazelle, beisa oryx, Abyssinian bushbuck, salt dik-dik and more.

Season: February – June

Success rate: The hunts are conducted as walk and stalk, so a certain level of fitness is required as is shooting skills. On a 15-day hunt 1:1 you may expect to take 5-10 animals – depending on species and trophy size expectations. Hunting more that one area, requires a minimum of 18 days. Hunting mountain nyala requires a minimum of 21 days, since the outcome of the hunt is very dependent on good weather (possibility of rain/fog in the mountains).

Accommodation: Fairly primitive, but functional.

Additional activities: Very limited.
